About

During lockdown, one of my daughter’s friends was diagnosed with Ewings Sarcoma and passed away within 7 months of diagnosis. I know this was absolutely horrendous for all friends and family and also funerals were limited to numbers and many experienced a really traumatic and awful time based on the deeply saddening event and the fact they were locked down from even grieving properly.

I promised my daughter I would raise 10k for a cancer charity based on what had happened but unfortunately my own business was very busy and I found it impossible to start the project up properly.

The goal for this fundraiser is two fold.

I hope to kick off the fundraiser by shaving my hair off and keeping my promise to do 100 situps, 100 pressups and 10 miles of cycling for 100 days. I will also be putting up 100 netball shots per day. This is to let young people know at our netball club (DNA) that it is important to keep up with fitness and dedication despite other commitments in life.

The other main drive is to make money online and illustrate the journey on a Youtube channel. This is to incentify teenagers to look at making their own money online (although the original premise at the time was because most traditional routes for jobs were closed to teenagers at the time as bars, cinemas etc were not open).

I will be selling affiliate products / services and courses (as there is no upfront cost) and will donate every bit of profit to the cause. I am giving myself 100 days to achieve this but have zero experience in doing this. I will try my very hardest though.

If you would like to mimic what I am doing or indeed donate, I’m sure the charity would be delighted.

The other requirement in the original listing was to get 1000 Youtube subscribers so the channel could start earning some revenue for the cause too.

The original detail I wrote a couple of years ago is below:-

________________________________________

I will attempt to make £10k profit by making money online during the next 90 days which will be added to this target.

My progress will be covered on a Youtube channel called ‘Tedious Dad’ (link is here https://www.tediousdad.com/tedious-dad-channel) and it will feature my attempts to make money online whilst challenging two of my daughters who live with us.

This challenge has been set because I think lockdown has been particularly tough on all people but especially kids who have been unable to proceed with everyday life and their normal social interactions during their formative years.

During this lockdown period, one of my daughter’s friends passed away within 7 months of diagnosis at only 17 years of age. This is absolutely horrendous leaving a huge hole for all friends and family. I know terribly sad situations are occurring every day but I felt like I needed to get my kids motivated despite these very sad times.

This is what has incentivised me to do a 90 day challenge. I will find this pretty challenging, publicly exposing but if it’s for charity, I don’t mind. I am hopeless at social media but will have to learn. Who knows, I may learn something myself!

My main aim is to incentivise anyone who is stuck at home but needs to earn some money. This applies particularly to teenagers who are stuck at home (with their parents, some of them tedious), as all their usual avenues to earn money are currently closed because of lockdown restrictions.

So the challenge is to make £10k profit from doing online business and gain 1000 followers on Youtube. I will be competing with two of my daughters who will take part in an online challenge.

If you would also like to take part in doing something over the next 90 days and contribute to the total, then that would be fantastic.

Challenge was supposed to start on 6th April 2021 . Closes 6th July 2021.

I’m hoping that I raise most of the money during the challenge but if you feel like you would also like to contribute, I’m sure the charities would be delighted.
